ClaimSmart references Tarion’s Construction Performance Guidelines (CPG) and the Ontario Building Code (OBC). Final warranty decisions rest solely with Tarion. ClaimSmart cannot guarantee acceptance of any specific claim. -

Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by Ontario law, ClaimSmart’s total liability— including that of its inspectors—shall not exceed the fee paid for the inspection giving rise to the claim. -

We understand that plans can change. The following policy ensures fairness to homeowners, inspectors, and our scheduling team.
Refund & Cancellation Policy Summary
More than 24 hours before appointment
→ Client Action: Cancel or reschedule by phone or email
→ ClaimSmart Response: 100% refund or free reschedule
Less than 24 hours before appointment
→ Client Action: Cancel
→ ClaimSmart Response: 50% of inspection fee retained to cover administrative and inspector time
Inspector arrives and client is not present / home inaccessible
→ Client Action: No-show or locked out
→ ClaimSmart Response: 75% of inspection fee retained, 25% refunded
Inspection begins but client ends it early
→ Client Action: Cancel mid-inspection
→ ClaimSmart Response: No refund (work already performed and report preparation underway)
ClaimSmart cancels (e.g., unsafe conditions, extreme weather, force majeure)
→ ClaimSmart Action: Cancelled appointment
→ Client Response Options: Free reschedule or full 100% refund
Client is unsatisfied with the report
→ Client Action: Submit a written concern within 5 business days
→ ClaimSmart Response: Will clarify findings, correct errors if present, and offer a partial refund if a significant portion of the inspection was not completed

How to Request a Refund

• Date of scheduled service
• Reason for refund request -
Our team will acknowledge within 2 business days and aim to resolve or refund (if eligible) within 7 business days via the original payment method.

Processing & Fees

Refunds are returned to the original card / e-transfer account.

Banking or credit-card processing times may add 3–7 days after ClaimSmart issues the refund.

Fees for third-party add-on services (e.g., lab testing) are non-refundable once the service has commenced.
